Samsung Galaxy S21 Ultra 5G has many great features including 108 megapixel camera, 6.8 inch big screen, powerful processor and powerful battery. But is the Galaxy S21 Ultra really the best flagship smartphone? Here we have come to answer your same question.
Design
First of all let's talk about design. The look and feel of the Galaxy S21 Ultra 5G seems quite premium at first sight. It will be seen that it is an expensive smartphone. When the Galaxy S21 Ultra is revealed, its rear camera module is first seen. It has a big camera bump, which looks unique and classy. However, it is a matter of choice. Somebody may like this bump, so one can dislike it. We found its camera bump attractive.
The Galaxy S21 Ultra comes in Phantom Black and Phantom Silver color. We have its phantom black color model. If you compare the two colors, then the Phantom Black model looks more attractive. The phone has a glass back. The color of the rear is matte black. The Samsung logo and the sides of the phone on the rear panel are in glossy black finish, which makes its look even better. The SIM slot, USB Type-C port and the Spiker grill are given at the bottom. Mic is found in the top of the phone.
Talking about the overall look, it looks quite premium. The phone is big and its weight is also high, but can be used with one hand. However, it is difficult to use with one hand for a long time. The phone is also very sleek, so do not make the mistake of using it without the back cover, otherwise it can fall and break.
What is special about the display?
Samsung phones are known for great displays and the Galaxy S21 Ultra's display takes it up one level. This premium phone has a 6.8-inch Dynamic Amoled 2X Infinity-O display, which comes with a punch-hole and 120Hz refresh rate. The display has been given a curved look, which makes the design of the phone more premium.
The Galaxy S21 Ultra's display comes with adaptive brightness. After turning on this feature, depending on your use, the brightness of the screen will automatically decrease. There are two options for refresh rate. On selecting the adaptive refresh rate, the screen will adjust the refresh rate from 10Hz to 120Hz depending on your usage. At the same time, upon selecting the standard option, you will get a refresh rate of 60Hz.
The phone has three screen resolutions. These include HD Plus, Full HD Plus and WQHD +. To understand this in easy words, the screen in WQHD + mode gives the best resolution. In Full HD Plus mode, the screen will be slightly less than this and in HD Plus, a little less screen will be seen.
Two screen modes named Vivid and Natural have been given in the display of Galaxy S21 Ultra. In natural mode, the colors on the screen are slightly lighter. However, both modes offer a good display experience. It has a special feature called Eye Comfort Shield, in which two options are available under the name Adaptive and Custom. Apart from this, many features such as Always On, Better Dark Mode, Easy Mode, Edge Panel On Off, Navigation Bar, Accidental Touch Protection and Touch Sensitivity are available for the display of Galaxy S21 Ultra. You can set them on or off according to your need.
The phone comes with an in-display fingerprint scanner, that is, the fingerprint sensor is given in the phone's display itself. Its fingerprint scanner is better than the Galaxy S20 series. You will realize it every time while unlocking the phone. The display of this premium phone from Samsung is quite smooth. Whether playing games, watching videos or scrolling, you will always get a great experience. If you are fond of gaming and watching videos, then its display will live up to your expectations. Overall, the Galaxy S21 Ultra carries the full number in terms of display.
Camera quality
First let's talk about the camera specifications of Galaxy S21 Ultra. There are four cameras in the rear of this phone. Among them, the main camera is 108 megapixels. Apart from this, two 10-megapixel telephoto lenses and a 12-megapixel ultraviolet angle lens are available. The phone's selfie camera is 40 megapixels.
The 108-megapixel main camera is awesome. It is with f1.8 aperture and works on pixel binding technique. This usually means the photo comes in a 12 megapixel resolution, but by selecting the 108 megapixel option, the camera converts 9 pixels to one pixel and brings a good amount of detail in the photos. The color of the object appears to be largely natural.
The photo is very good, both indoor and outdoor. With a 108 megapixel camera, you can take photos up to 6.0X zoom. We have clicked the moon's photo from this phone without the tripod 10.0X zoom and its 'stain' is visible with the moon's photo.
The camera performs quite well even in modes such as portrait and wide angle. In Night mode, you will get the best photos in this phone. Full detail of the object will be seen with natural color. The Galaxy S21 Ultra has a feature called Directors View, so that you can use both the front and rear cameras of the phone simultaneously. Apart from this, it will get many features like Food, Portrait, Slow Motion and Super Slow Can. You can shoot 8K video from the rear camera of the phone.
Like the rear camera, the front camera of the phone is also excellent. This 40 megapixel camera clicks real photos to a great extent. There are many features also available with the front camera, which can be used while taking a selfie. Over All Galaxy S21 Ultra's camera is quite good. This phone will not disappoint you in terms of camera.
Performance and Battery
The performance and battery life of the phone is also impressive. This phone has been introduced in India with Exynos 2100 processor, 12 GB and 16 GB RAM option and 256 GB and 512 GB internal storage option. The phone has a 5000mAh battery. It works on Samsung One UI 3.0 based on Android 11. We have used its variant with 12 GB RAM and 256 storage.
The phone is also very good in terms of performance. Whether watching a video, clicking a photo or playing a game, this phone did not appear to be short on performance at any time. We have played many games in this including FAU-G, Free Fire, Need For Speed and even once there was no shortage of performance of the phone. However, the phone is definitely hot when used for a while.
The Galaxy S21 Ultra has a 5000mAh battery. Once you charge full, if you use normal, then the battery will run all day. This means that if you use the phone for work as well as listening to some music, watching videos and playing some games, then you will be able to use it without charging throughout the day. This Samsung flagship phone works on Android 11. It offers clean and better user interface.
Sound quality
One of the most special features of the Galaxy S21 Ultra that caught our attention is the sound quality of the phone. This smartphone has a Dolby Atmus sound system. Dolby Atmus also has the facility to turn on and off. An equalizer is available along with several modes including normal, pop and classic. After playing the music on the full volume, you will get a feel of its great sound quality.
How much is the price
The 256GB model of the Galaxy S21 Ultra is priced at Rs 1,05,999 and the 512GB model is priced at Rs 1,16,999.
What are the drawbacks?
Nothing is 100% perfect and the same applies to the S21 Ultra. This phone also has some flaws. This phone heats up during gaming or when using continuously. With the phone you do not get a charging adapter nor a back cover. There is a lack of both these things. There is also an option to increase the storage in the phone. Since this phone is a little heavy and sleek, due to which there is a fear of slipping from the hand. If you buy this phone, then definitely buy the phone case as well. Now if the company is not providing charger and cover with the phone, then thinking about earbuds or earphones is also wrong.
The Galaxy S21 Ultra comes with S-Pen support like Samsung's Note series, but does not get S-Pen with it. Also, there is no place to keep an S-Pen in the phone. If you have to use S-Pen with S21 Ultra, then you have to buy it separately. Also, one has to buy a cover that has the facility of holding an S-Pen. This means that even after buying a phone worth Rs 1.06 lakh, you will have to loose your pocket to use it completely.
Our decision
Overall, the Galaxy S21 Ultra is a flagship phone with all the premium features. If you are looking for a real flagship Android phone and there is no budget tension, then Samsung Galaxy S21 Ultra is a good option for you.
